Hello,
I am pleased to announce the Wichita Mid-Continent Open Taekwondo Championships will be held on 5 June 2010
at Trinity Academy in Wichita, KS.
My wife and I are thrilled to offer a great Martial Arts Tournament that is friendly for all ages and belt ranks. This
tournament will focus on making friends and good competition without the pressure of high stakes competitions that
higher level organizations offer.
This is the second year for our tournament. Last year we had zero complaints and much praise for a well run
tournament. This year should be no different but rather than talk about how great my tournament is going to be, let
me explain what my tournament will not be.
-Masters and school owners will not pay as spectators
-Coaches will not pay to coach
-Master and school owners will not be burdened with reffing or judging
-Children will not sit by the ring side for hours on end waiting to compete as we have a full staging area
-Red belts and below will not be a ref or a judge
-My center refs will not be lower than 5th Dan
-Demonstrations; time permitting will not be longer than 25 minutes
-There will not be(as I like to call it)Dead air. Events will keep going without stopping to ensure we get home early
-I will not change the rules or schedule the day of the tournament
-Divisions will not have more than 4 people (everyone goes home with a medal)
-Spectators will not sit on uncomfortable bench seats (Trinity Academy is a first class facility)
-Scores for forms will not be hidden from the view of spectators
-We will not use paper to judge sparring (electronic scoring at all rings)
-We will not wait to award medals; competitors can join their families and relax until the next round of competition
-There will be no home teaming it (my judges will use integrity and be impartial)
-We will make sure this tournament is good for you as a business owner and good for your students and parents.
I have always believed to give people what they pay for and what is advertised, that is what you will get if you attend
my tournament.
I look forward to a great tournament, please contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
DAVID M. PERREAULT, 5th DAN, USNTF

Once a railroad town on the Chisholm
Trail where cattlemen shipped off
herds to eastern markets, Wichita
quickly blossomed into the "Air Capital
of the World" as aircraft pioneer Clyde
Cessna founded his company here. To
this day, Cessna, as well as Learjet,
Boeing and Airbus maintain a
significant workforce in the city. A
vibrant entertainment and cultural
downtown district is home to
world-class restaurants and museums,
clubs and dancehalls offering up live
blues and one-of-a-kind boutiques for
great souvenirs to remember your visit
to our tournament in Wichita.
