Hello,
I am pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Wichita Mid-Continent Open Taekwondo Championships will be held on 5
June 2010 at Trinity Academy in Wichita, KS. My wife and I are thrilled to offer a great Martial Arts Tournament that
is friendly for all ages and belt ranks. This tournament will focus on making friends and providing good competition,
at the same time making it stress free and enjoyable for all.
Last year was a great success as we received zero negative feedback as all competitors involved enjoyed a full day
of outstanding competition. That being said as we prepare for the second year of our tournament we want to
highlight some of that success from last year in hopes to encourage higher attendance and greater participation
from the martial arts community. Some of the highlights are as follows:
• Masters and school owners will not pay as spectators and coaches will be admitted free of charge
• Masters and school owners will not be burdened with refereeing or judging, therefore free to interact with
their students and parents.
• We have a separate staging area thus limiting competitors from having to sit by the ringside for hours on end.
• All the center refs will be 5th Dan or higher and all judges will be Black belt and higher
• In effort to keep the day on track events will go continuous without stopping to ensure we get home early.
We will only have a demonstration if time permits and it will last no longer than 25 minutes.
• All rules and schedule are in place and will not change the day of the tournament.
• Divisions will have no more than 4 people and everyone goes home with a medal!
• Our facility is an excellent venue as Trinity Academy has a spectacular gymnasium and more importantly
for us adults comfortable bleachers.
• Scores for poomse will be in plain view for all in attendance to see, yes including the person sitting at the
top of the bleachers.
• We utilize electronic scoring for all rings to minimize mistakes and increase the spectator experience.
• We will award medals following each individual competitive bracket allowing competitors to join their
families and relax until the next round of competition.
• As is always with any of Air Capital events we hold ourselves firm to the tenants of courtesy,
integrity, perseverance, self control and indomitable spirit.
• We strive to make this tournament a great decision for you as a business owner and enjoyable
day for your students and parents.
I believe in the old saying “Well done is better than well said” So please attend to find out for yourselves in what has
been advertised or better yet call someone from last and they will attest to the quality of our tournament. We look
forward to seeing you there, should you have any questions please do not hesitate to call me.
Sincerely,
DAVID M. PERREAULT, 5th DAN, USNTF

Once a railroad town on the Chisholm
Trail where cattlemen shipped off
herds to eastern markets, Wichita
quickly blossomed into the "Air Capital
of the World" as aircraft pioneer Clyde
Cessna founded his company here. To
this day, Cessna, as well as Learjet,
Boeing and Airbus maintain a
significant workforce in the city. A
vibrant entertainment and cultural
downtown district is home to
world-class restaurants and museums,
clubs and dancehalls offering up live
blues and one-of-a-kind boutiques for
great souvenirs to remember your visit
to our tournament in Wichita.
